This Nezumi Shino chawan by Kato Kageaki(1899-1972) feels alive; it's a classic Nezumi Shino chawan that all in all speaks for itself. Kato was a 12th generation Mino potter--father of Kagekiyo (Seizo), grandfather of Yasukage--and his lineage dates back to the original potters of the Mino region, in particularly to Kagemitsu, and thus the -Kage for all members of this family. KatoXII was named a Gifu Prefecture Intangible Cultural Property in 1958 for his Shino and Oribe wares. This chawan is in perfect condition with a signed box, 9.5cm.tallx12.5, signed on base.
