Bizen Hidasuki Tokkuri by Kakurezaki Ryuichi
You know, after looking at many pages of listed sold Kakurezaki pieces over the past eight years or so from our gallery---wow,some great works indeed!--I could not find one pure hidasuki-scarlet rope cord tokkuri; there were some with hidasuki, yet they also had splashes of goma or yohen patches. So, something new here and I kid you not when I say it's a great hidasuki firing; rich colors and wispy lines matched with full patches. The top and bottom got sizzled in the kiln creating a 'melon skin' texture, a desirable 'landscape.' When cold sake is poured within the colors on the surface will deepen, delightful! In perfect condition with a signed box, 15.1cm.tall signed near base. We also have a white glazed Kakurezaki tall guinomi, previews on request.
