White Ash-Glazed Mizusashi by Ishii Takahiro
Learning new ways of creating ceramic art was all part of Ishii Takahiro's apprenticeship with Bizen master Kakurezaki Ryuichi. He shows he learned his lessons well with two mizusashi that he recently brought to our gallery. The first we're offering is this white-glazed(haku-yu) one with an oblong form and patches of clay and hi-iro exposed on the surface. This mizusashi--compared to the Oribe one--has no ears on the sides yet displays the same looped handle at the top. In perfect condition with a signed box, 18cm.tallx25x22, signed on base.
