Ohi Toshio(b.1958) will one day become the master of his family's ancient kiln and will take on the ChozaemonXI; he makes traditional works in the realm of his father ChozaemonX as well as thoroughly original designs. He's an important Tea potter of that there is no doubt. In Tea there is Zen and there is also sake. Most Tea potters make sake vessels and here is a fine white Ohi sake cup-guinomi by Ohi. It has a miniature chawan form and a speckled glazing. A fine piece in perfect condition with a signed box, 4.8cm.tallx7.5, stamped on base. We also have a white Ohi chawan in listing 667938.
