Shigaraki Uzukumaru-Tsubo by Otani Shiro
Otani Shiro(1936-) is a veteran Shigaraki ceramic artist who was named a Shigaraki Intangible Cultural Property in 1990. He has made very traditional and distinctive Shigaraki works during his award-winning career. A deep, toasty brown natural ash-glaze covers the front and whichever way the jar is turned another similar keshiki or landscape comes in view. In perfect condition with a signed box, 13.5cm.tallx13, signed on base.
