Large Bizen Platter by Wani Eiko
In 1967 Wani Eiko entered the Kaneshige pottery to become Kaneshige Toyo's final apprentice. After Toyo's passing not long after Wani passed through the gate, he stayed on at the Kaneshige kiln and continued his studies with Michiaki and then with Sozan. In 1975 Wani established his own kiln and has a solid career with national exhibitions and winning the Tanabe Museum's Tea Form Exhibition Grand Prix in 1999. This large platter is not only a fine Bizen ceramic piece as it, with food arranged on it the true beauty--and deep joy--of Bizen ceramics will come to life. The creativity of the user completes the work. It's 6.8cm.tallx47x35, signed on base with a signed box.
