Here is a wonderful Ohi ame-yu seven-sided mizusashi fresh-water jar by Ohi Toshio, future ChozaemonXI. Ohi is a mater Tea potter following in the long line of Ohi potters based in Kanazawa. The family has a great homepage with history and photos of the Ohi Museum; about Toshio can be viewed here, please add www. to: hokuriku.ne.jp/ohi/00toshio.htm This mizusashi has a deep amber-ame glaze--one of my all-time favorite glazes--that appears as if wood or lacquer; it is darker in person and quite a mystical piece. In perfect condition with a signed box, 17cm.tallx17, stamped on base, shown with a white Ohi chawan. We also will be offering an ame chawan and vase, plus guinomi soon.
