E-Karatsu Guinomi by Tsuji Seimei
Tsuji Seimei(b.1927) is a living legend ceramic artist. The last few years have been rough for him--and wife Kyo--health wise, yet he--thankfully--recovered much of his strength last year and fired last autumn after a few years absence. I was lucky to get this E-Karatsu (e-garatsu, painted Karatsu) guinomi with a very rare Mt.Fuji depiction, the first he's ever done. The form is pure Tsuji with a good weighty balance and perfect drinking lip; over time watch it change with use. In perfect condition with a signed box, 5.1cm.tallx6.3cm.wide at lip, signed on side.
