Iro-E Nabeshima Sake Set by LNT Imaemon Imaezumi XIV
Porcelain fit for a feudal lord, in fact in the early days that’s who Nabeshima was made for. Now the fourteenth generation heads the kiln and in 2014 the current generation Imaemon Imaizumi(b.1962) became the youngest person ever to be designated a Living National Treasure for his Nabeshima and techniques he uses to create the various colors on his elegant porcelains.Here is a recently made gourd flask showing two side of gray fukizumi and sumi-hajiki with overglaze enamel designs and the other side bluish-green; in between are etched bands of floral designs. A very complex scheme on an elegant form. The two sake cups are of an asymmetrical form with similar designs. The flask is 18.3cm.tall and is Sold, the cups are Sold, 5.5cm.tallx5.5cm; all etched signature on base with signed boxes individually.
