Old and New–Kaneshige Toyo and Tanoue Shinya–And Then Some.
A few new works to the gallery starting with a 1930s Kaneshige Toyo tokkuri and a new style by the ever-talented Tanoue Shinya. The Kaneshige tokkuri is 15cm.tall, one of his early stamps on base, signed box by son Kosuke—a rare piece with shibui ‘landscapes.’ Tanoue resides and works in Kyoto, a rising star with a very unique voice; he just introduced a new glazing scheme using lacquer, seen here on his signature shell form. It’s 28cm.tallx29.3×27.7, signed on base. The Kaneshige is 480,000 yen and Tanoue is On Reserve, both prices include EMS delivery.
