Tamba Aka-dobe Jar by Nishihata Tadashi
Nishihata Tadashi (b.1948) is most likely the greatest traditional Tamba ceramic in Japan today—more about him in our archives. Recently he’s updated the ancient Tamba technique of aka-dobe–red slip–with a brighter temperament. The ishihaze-stone burst and black ash areas contrast brilliantly with the crimson color. In perfect condition with a signed box, signed on base, 26.3cm.x25.5cm. Guinomi is Sold (More later this month).
